[Deal Alert] Get A Sony SmartWatch 2 From Cow Boom For $79.99 Pre-Owned, $99.99 Refurbished

image

The Sony SmartWatch 2 still goes for $199.99 new, but today you can get one around your wrist for less than half the price. Cow Boom, a Best Buy brand, has pre-owned Sony smartwatches in stock that it's willing to let go for $79.99. These may come with scratches and dents, but they're still going to work. I'll admit, that may not sound entirely compelling, but that's the risk you take whenever you buy something used.

Next wave of wearables slated for the Computex spotlight

image

Traditionally viewed as a geek's paradise, the Computex trade show will turn into a battlefield for the body next week.
An entire pavilion will be dedicated to little-known device makers showing off the latest smartwatches, smartglasses, wristbands, health monitors and tech-friendly clothing, with a sprinkling of cloud-based services for wearables expected to dot the floor.
Wearables are the next big thing in technology and Computex, Asia's largest electronics show, is a way for many small Chinese and Taiwanese companies to show off their wares. Little-known Asian companies are already driving smartphone and tablet prices down, and are poised to do the same in wearables, said Paul Gray, director at NPD DisplaySearch.

Fugoo Bluetooth Speaker Review: This Is The Speaker I'd Make If I Made Speakers

wm_IMG_2154

The number of Bluetooth speakers I've looked at in the past year (give or take) is vast. As a result, I feel like I have a good understanding of what's available on the market, as well as what offers the most bang for the buck. As time has gone on, I've started holding each new speaker to a higher level, because the competition is just too stiff not to. Manufacturers absolutely have to one up the other guys if they want to stand out in this saturated market.

Samsung scrambles to launch virtual reality headset before Facebook

image

The-Oculus-Rift-headset-i-012 Samsung’s like the spoiled brat you went to school with: they have almost everything, but if another kid comes in with a toy that’s not part of their collection, mummy and daddy will make sure they get it. Rumor has it the South Korean company is now developing its own virtual reality headset that will

Sony's XSPN1BT Double-DIN Smartphone Car Stereo Phone Mount Is Available On Amazon And Crutchfield For $250

image

71bwrwA5IjL._SL1500_ Remember that neato Sony car stereo we checked out at CES, which is basically the perfect receiver for someone who uses their phone for all their in-car entertainment? Well, the XSPN1BT (catchy!) is here. You can but it from Crutchfield pre-order it now on Amazon for $249.99, and it will ship out on Thursday the 29th, just barely making Sony's May commitment for release.

If you don't recall, the XSPN1BT is a Bluetooth-powered receiver that foregoes the fancy color screens of modern car stereos for a tiny dock that clamps onto your phone.

Kairos Hybrid Smartwatch

image

For many smartwatch manufacturers the gap between technology and fashion is too wide a leap. Devices like Galaxy Gear or Qualcomm Toq are capable of many incredible things, but they look more like tiny computers rather than watches that you would actually wear on your wrist. The upcoming wave of good-looking Android Wear watches may change that, but at the moment we’re under the impression that most smartwatch makers have chosen the wrong approach.

Goondu review: Martian Passport smartwatch

image

The Martian Passport looks more like a watch than many other smartwatches today, but does it do its job of looking good and being practical?

For starters, it tells time with the hour and minute hands taking up some two-thirds of the watch face. The remaining space is taken up by a digital screen fulfilling the smart functions.
image
If this seems like someone decided to slap a smart design onto a regular quartz watch, well, it does. Fortunately, the Passport doesn’t feel like a cheap toy – the stainless steel case and rubber strap certainly look like they can survive some outdoor activity.

SmartThings, the maker of a connected home hub device, today made several major announcements as it moves from product to platform. Tego Power Grid review

image

tego 2
One thing we’ve seen while reviewing battery packs is the lack of beautiful design. That’s absolutely not the case for the Tego Power Grid, a 4,200mAh battery pack. It offers a very unique design and enough juice to power your device two times over, but is a little pricey for our liking. We’ve used this... Read more »

Creative Labs SoundBlaster AXX 200 Bluetooth Speaker Review: ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

image

1

We review a lot of Bluetooth speakers, most of which have the same basic features. Every once in a while, however, one comes along that brings more to the table in terms of flare, or additional usage that's outside of the normal scope. The majority of portable speakers pair with your wireless device, let you change tracks and volume from a distance, might charge external devices...and that's essentially it.

Then Creative Labs made the SoundBlaster AXX 200 ($150).
